· Taiwan Nightlife ·

Taiwan has an abundance of nightlife, and Taipei in particular is lively at night. Taipei nightlife is among the best in the whole of Asia. The night is very young at Taiwan's capital, and even after hours, people are always around to have fun for the rest of the night. The city never sleeps, so do try any of the places suggested below... Why sleep when there is so much to enjoy?

Night Market:
Taipei's largest night market is probably Shihlin Night Market, famous for its good-value clothing and food. It is a great first stop as the prices are low and the environment is clean. Many shops are open at night.

Typical Taiwanese snacks are found everywhere, but Taiwan's night markets in particular, each night market having its own traditions and characteristics, are the places where these snacks can be found in abundance. Trying out these snacks, tourists will be able to learn about different specialties, cultures and people from different areas, adding a whole new perspective to traveling.

Karaoke Bars:
After you had spent some time checking out the night markets, you can go to these karaoke venues where you can reserve your own private space with all the singing equipment you need.
Singing is popular among Taiwanese people and it is great to get involved in it with friends and family. Plus there are people willing to serve you at anytime without you ever leaving your space.

Night Bars
Western-style entertainment can be found in hotels, and in the many discos, clubs, restaurants and cinemas in Taipei. If you are in the mood to dance for the rest of the night, there are several places where you can get started like Hua-Shan Music Hall which offers a variety of music including classical and pop music. For the lounge setting you can try Barcode. Another good place if you got young folks with you, is Room 18. You also can try Bottoms Up Saloon in Kaohsiung.

Maokong:
If you don’t like the busy and noisy side of Taipei nightlife, Maokong is a good place for you. The suburb of Maokong is located in Muzha, on the top of a mountain, 30 minutes away from city. You can view the whole city from there - a great view at nights. You can also taste excellent Chinese tea. High-quality meals and snacks are also provided. Enjoy your time without any disturbance. Or go with your friends chatting the whole night long.
