Taiwan is known as Ilha Formosa that means "A beautiful Island", ; it is shaped like a tobacco leaf that is narrow at both ends. Taiwan is locate in the East Asia off coast of Mainland China, in southwest part of main island of Japan and that is directly to end of Ryukyu Islands of Japan and northwest of Philippines. Taiwan is bound to east by Pacific Ocean, there the South China to south, to west Taiwan Strait and to north by East China Sea. It is 394 kilometers long and about 144 kilometers wide, consisting steep mountains covered by tropical and the subtropical vegetation. Many airlines fly to Taiwan, helping make it the perfect travel destination.

Taiwan is one of the only places on earth where ancient religious and cultural practices still thrive in an overwhelmingly modernist landscape. It is a fascinating mix of technological innovation and traditional Chinese and aboriginal cultures and cuisines. Taiwan offers visitors a hypermodern skin, an ancient Chinese skeleton and an aboriginal soul. And more than that, Taiwan has some of the world’s warmest people, affable to a fault and so filled with rénqíng wèi (which, roughly translated, means ‘personal affection’) that few who come to Taiwan a stranger leave that way.

On any given day, the casual visitor can experience this unique juxtaposition of old and new, witnessing time-honoured cultural practices while still taking in technological milestones such as the world's tallest building, Taipei 101, and the new High Speed Rail that links the island's two largest cities.

Beyond the narrow corridor of factories and crowded cities along Taiwan's west coast is a tropical island of astounding beauty, with by far the tallest mountains in northeast Asia and some of the region's most pristine and secluded coastline. With the lush mountains of Wulai, pulsating cities like Taipei, the stunning basalt cliffs of Penghu, excellent hiking in Taroko Gorge,Taian Hot Springs, Taiwan cuts a figure as one of the most diverse destinations in Asia. Add to this the impressive array of cuisines - with specialties from all corners of China as well as authentic aboriginal and Japanese fare - and you've got one of the most well-rounded and hospitable holiday destinations in the world.
